Flinders St Station Tour |
||||
Flinders St Station Tour Your tour starts off under the clocks which has been Melbourne's favourite meeting for decades. From there it takes you over the concourse, along its platforms and through its subways as you are taken back in time to the period of romantic travel. Access to the Ballroom is not possible due to State Government requirements sorry. However, there is more to the station than just the Ballroom! Hear about the first juice bar in Melbourne from 1926, a visual swindle by the original buildiers and more! Premier of Victoria Ted Baillieu is launching the $1M architectural competition soon so people such as University students completing competition assignments can learn more about the station first hand. Gain a better appreciation of the station as passenger numbers rise again due to increasing fuel charges. People flows will become crucial as new bottlenecks could be found particularly with Myki use.

After the tour, join us for a great
coffee at La Stazione or similar, situated in the original booking
office, at the conclusion. Housekeeping The Flinders St Station Tour starts under the clocks in
keeping with local tradition! This is a walking
tour so wear suitable footwear and please arrive 10 minutes
early to ensure the tour starts on time. It takes around 2 hours
and is limited to 20 people and platform tickets are included.
Rest stops are provided where possible during the tour
but if there are concerns about the tour length, we offer
1, 1.5 or 2 hour itineraries and rain is no barrier as we
have the station's roof to count on.
Regrettably Jenny Davies is no longer available to
run Flinders St Station tours. All such tours will
now be conducted by other MELTours guides. Note most dietary requirements are catered for.
